IS MULTI-FAMILY HOUSING COMING TO YOUR RESIDENTIAL NEIGHBORHOOD?

Please Virtually Dial In To This Wednesday’s Mayor and Council Meeting As There May Be A Vote To Settle In Favor of High Density Multi-Family Units.

Dear Neighbors,
Hope all had a healthy and safe 4th of July weekend. For the first time, Democratic controlled borough attorneys and experts stated on June 29, 2020 in a court filing we would generate an additional 2,000 new multi-family housing units, which would be more than double the current total of 1,924 housing units. This would have a crushing impact on our public schools, generating as many as 651 or 81% new public school age children when compared to the 2018-2019 enrollment of 805 students. The additional 651 new public school students would incrementally cost the town approximate $15 million, and a projected increase of our real estate taxes would not be enough to offset this expense. The court excerpt below confirms we have been telling you the truth for over a year:
Since January 2019, the Democratic Council majority controlled the results of 800 Sylvan Avenue LLC and high density multi-family housing litigation matters. They have deliberately excluded the Mayor and Republican Council members from the entire process by using their attorney and town resident Albert Wunsch as the gatekeeper of information. Wunsch has already been paid over $500,000 to keep the residents and the Mayor in the dark. He has added NO VALUE to the process in representing the best interests of the town. This is OUTRAGEOUS!

More importantly, on June 30, 2020 Mayor Kranjac filed a court complaint to push through an investigation against all Democratic Councilpersons: Gloria Oh, Edward Aversa, Deborah Tsabari and Jimmy Song. Additionally, a private resident filed a court complaint demanding Democratic Councilpersons recuse themselves from any vote regarding investigations and residential multi-family housing matters. In summary, this litigation is not about affordable housing. It’s about land grabs generating over $100 million dollar profit for the builders, and everyone else enabling them at the cost of the residents who will be left holding the bag of $20 million plus yearly expenses.

Please virtually or dial-in to attend this Wednesday’s July 8, 2020 Regular Mayor & Council Meeting via Zoom at 8:00 PM and demand the following:
NO resolutions, NO discussions and NO voting about settlement.Fire Albert Wunsch for perpetuating the biggest fraud in the history of this town.Support Councilman Woo’s motion to have an investigation against all Democratic Councilpersons. They need to recuse themselves from voting on everything related to multi-family residential housing until the investigation is completed. Tsabari and Aversa should never vote due to conflicts of interests.
